Why lot traceability matters in peptide research

Color-coded laboratory sample tubes arranged by batch

Lot traceability gives a research team a defensible link between the material in hand and the supporting records used to review it.

What to keep together

  • Material name, format and label image
  • Lot or batch reference
  • Analytical documentation
  • Receiving date and condition
  • Storage transition and location
  • Internal disposition or use record

Where traceability often breaks

Common breaks include renaming a sample without preserving the source lot, separating a certificate from the receiving record, or applying one batch result to a different batch. A simple, consistent naming convention prevents much of this ambiguity.
